Carnivore Diet Strategy-My SIBO Healing journey

If you would have told this fit chick that she would be entertaining the idea of using the Carnivore diet as a strategy to heal her SIBO. I would had said an emphatic NOPE!!

Backstory on my Guts of Health (anything but….) more like Guts of HURT!

I was fine growing up, no pooping (yes I said it, let’s get it out of the way)! issues

At 17 I had contracted the MONO (EBV) virus probably from my boyfriend’s brother who had it…no I wasn’t kissing him but I was running myself between school, sports and work and my immune system was obviously suppressed. So I had a 3 week vacation my senior year-NOT!

Then I had my wisdom teeth out, bacterial can fester there and could have made its way to my gut!

A year after that I ate bad shrimp and was puking at my new boyfriend’s house, first time I met his parents UGH!! nightmare.

Those last 3 events probably created the perfect storm…6 months after the bad shrimp I started having WEIRD tummy issues.

Within a year things like soda, fried foods, alcohol, and bread/pasta became my nemesis.

Multiple ER visits

Diagnosed with IBS

I went organic

Gave up dairy

Ate raw for a time

Increased my fruits and veggies

Did food testing

Started to do 21-day cleanses biannually

Whole Food Plant Based Diet mainly

Appts with G.I. docs

Appendicitis

Colorectal Cancer

Diagnosed with SIBO

Low FODMAP diet

Carb Specific Diet

Come to the conclusion I only feel better when I water fast and determine this isn’t about food but about my immune system.

Found Dr. Pompa an Autoimmune expert who I had done water fasting with, true cellular detox, heavy metals testing and detox and HIT a GOLDMINE! At this point I am like this is not about FOOD AVOIDANCE!

He did a series of videos on how to heal SIBO and then created a protocol FREE and I am like let’s do this!

I am on Day 2 of the Carnivore Diet, taking “Killers” to help normalize the overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine and a product to break down the biofilm (basically snots the bacteria hides under to avoid being killed)… Lil A-holes! Then some Prokinetics to stimulates the nerve plexus of the ileocecal valve and colon.

Carnivore Diet is a 7-14 day strategy to starve the bacteria, it feeds on fiber and sugars. Something someone like me who is mainly plant based eats a lot of FIBER UGH!!! So I was like Game ON!

So what am I eating? Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Ground turkey, Steak, Hamburgers, of course all grass fed & finished. High quality oils and Grass fed butter. Thinking I will add a day of water fasting in between to mix it up.

So how am I feeling? Well I am at the end of day 2 and already sick of eggs and meat but I can’t say cooking dinner is difficult. The tummy is rumbling and things are well moving to avoid being graphic. Which for me is heaven since I am chronically constipated, like totally ANAL.
