New Season, New You!
Have you ever considered what your personal values were and how to integrate those in your daily life? Some may be easy for you because they simply are in your nature. Other values may be more challenging like patience, have you ever heard someone say they are praying for patience? That may not be an answer you want!
Think through that for a moment and write down your top 5 values. This is an important task to do whenever we are in a new season of life or when we have something we want to accomplish. It is critical that we understand how our values need to be tied into that goal or achieving it will become very difficult. So when you look around at people what impresses you? What things do you respect and on the other hand what things really aggravate you about people or yourself? That can be a good indicator of what you value. For instance; I like when I make plans with someone or someone tells me they will help me with something and they follow-through and if they cannot that they reach out and let me know…Dependability.
We are 6 weeks into this new year. This is when the resolutions that were created with much anticipation become part of the recycle bin. Here is your challenge write down 2 health goals you want to commit to this month. Next write 2 activities that will help you compete while accomplishing this goal. For example; perhaps your blood pressure results have increased and one of your goals is to begin to perform a cardiovascular activity for 90-120 min/ week and you value competition so choose a 5k race and sign up for it!
