TO ALL MY CANCER THRIVERS

You are meant to do more than just SURVIVE!

You are meant to do more than just SURVIVE!

I am almost part of the 7 year club. The 7 year Cancer free club and I feel the “itch of discontentment” boiling up at times. Do you know what I am talking about?

The wondering if cancer will ravage my body again since I don’t get those semiannual scans. The concern that a day I feel more tired could be a warning sign. And knowing the healthy lifestyle I lived did not thwart cancer’s rage which dimmed my confidence on all I believe.

The inside voices attack without notice despite all my counseling and life coaching. I think it is part of the Survivor experience. I have larger tools available in my ammunition that have pushed me in to a THRIVER and remind me to be here today rather than worry about the future. HOPE and SURRENDER grew deep inside my DNA during my recovery and over the last 7 years. I realize control over our lives is just an illusion and learning to enjoy the journey and embrace each opportunity brings peace that passes all understanding.

Cancer shattered the Tracy Robert I once knew and loved.

Something deeper was planted that only tragedy & loss could excavate. For that I’m thankful.
Out of the ashes has RISEN a STRONGER, COURAGEOUS & PATIENT woman. I am the OWNER of my life and I have the pen to write my story to serve others. That is really the mission of us all who have survived cancer. To give back, lending an ear to another experiencing a dark night and pushing through the fear to offer wisdom to those suffering like you did.

You will have days you don’t feel like you have gotten past your pain to help someone else, I get it. It is in those moments I would encourage you to reach out and offer a word of encouragement. This will strengthen you and give you purpose to keep thriving beyond your own pain. So much of Cancer Recovery is emotional and I know I felt voiceless because my faith was rocked. Tale each day and do something to move through your pain and into healing. You have so much compassion and wisdom to give to others, don’t keep it all to yourself, you will inspire someone else with your story.

I am grateful for all the friendship, the support, the love and virtual hugs I received. People showed up and spoke to me in ways they may never know...now it is our turn! Keep inspiring, enjoying your journey & making the most of every opportunity God gives you.

Keep Thriving!
